Designed for advanced/beginner and intermediate players. This course will teach you how to hold down that classic blues shuffle rhythm while playing tasteful lead phrases at the same time. You will:
Develop a steady of sense rhythm, feel and groove making it more enjoyable to play with other people or play by yourself.
Learn rhythmic concepts and techniques through twelve 12-Bar blues arrangements all in the key of E. The music is inspired by blues greats like John Lee Hooker, Lightinin' Hopkins,and Muddy Waters. We’ll also be using the classic shuffle pioneered by Jimmy Reed.
Understand the basics of blues harmony, blues scales and the common 12-bar blues structure.
Learn, develop and improve on techniques that are common all over blues music.
Internalize ideas, become an active listener, creative player and take and mutate these ideas for yourself so you can improvise on the blues.
This course is not only great for learning the foundation of the blues. It can also be used as a way to understand music fundamentals such as building rhythm and lead awareness. It's also both electric and acoustic guitar friendly!
