Build a rock-solid foundation in blues rhythm and lead — even if you're just getting started.
This course is perfect for beginner and intermediate guitarists who want to play authentic blues, hold down that steady shuffle, and add tasteful lead phrases — all inspired by legends like John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and Jimmy Reed.
In this course, you'll learn how to:
🎸 Play steady blues shuffle rhythm and layer in expressive lead lines
🎸 Learn the foundational 12-bar blues structure to jam over
🎸 Apply rhythm and blues scales into your phrasing
🎸 Add expressive techniques like slides, hammer-ons, and pull-offs
🎸 Develop muscle memory with focused drills, exercises, and arrangements
🎸Perform specialized arrangements that build upon concepts from course
Join a supportive, interactive space to learn, ask questions, and get feedback live.
Each month, I host a live Zoom session focused on a specific guitar topic.
Here’s what you can expect:
✅ A focused topic or skill every month
✅ A chance to ask questions or get live feedback on your playing
✅ The option to sit back, observe, and absorb
✅ Recordings available if you can’t make it live
Whether you're looking for real-time feedback or just want to feel part of a community of players growing together, these sessions are a great way to stay inspired and keep learning.
Is there a lick, solo, or rhythm part you’ve been trying to nail down? Maybe you’re working through one of my Instagram, TikTok or YouTube lessons, tackling a tough section in the blues course, or just exploring your own ideas.
Inside the community, you now have access to personalized video feedback. Here’s how it works:
You send me a quick video of something you’re working on. Anything from a short phrase to a full performance. I’ll reply with a detailed video response, breaking down your playing, highlighting strengths, and giving clear, practical advice on what to focus on next.
We can go back and forth as many times as needed. Whether we’re fine-tuning a technique or building a plan to help you grow, I’m here to support your progress directly.
This is an affordable, flexible alternative to traditional private lessons. Perfect for players who want expert feedback but have limited time. You can submit a video whenever it works for you, and I’ll respond within 2 weeks (usually much shorter). No pressure. No scheduling headaches.
Being part of this space means more than just working through a course on your own. With a dedicated message board, you can connect with other guitarists, share videos, ask questions, and even suggest new material. Everyone’s on their own path with the instrument, but by learning together, the process becomes more engaging, motivating, and fun. Between the structured courses, live Zoom sessions, and community discussions, you’ll have the support and inspiration to keep progressing and stay accountable along the way.
If you joined my mailing list, you should’ve received a free digital book that walks you through connecting lead lines using the blues scale. I’ve shared video demonstrations of every lick from the book across my social media, but inside the community, members get access to all of them in a clean, organized course format. No scrolling or searching needed, just clear, easy-to-follow lessons all in one place.
This is a compilation of blues turnaround demonstrations I have posted on social media over the years. A turnaround occurs in the last 4 bars of a 12-bar blues chord progression. They bring you back to the beginning of the chord progression. Some of the coolest musical ideas in the blues come from turnarounds. You can learn more about blues turnarounds in my "Breaking Down The Blues" course.

Here's what members are saying:
"One of the best decisions I’ve made in my guitar journey is joining the “Learn Guitar With Andy” community! He breaks the blues & techniques down into easily digestible pieces that allows me to focus on the things I need to improve my playing. Since joining the community I can now play the 12-bar blues which I absolutely couldn’t do before and my playing overall has improved significantly. Andy is definitely a stickler for the finer details of guitar playing, but he’s also incredibly patient and meets you at right at the level where you’re at. I’m having so much fun learning the blues with him."
Joining Andy’s guitar community has been a total game-changer. His laid-back teaching style and short-form video lessons—complete with music and tab sheets—make learning feel fun and easy, not overwhelming. He hosts monthly Zoom meetups which are the icing on the cake—welcoming, encouraging, and perfect for players of all levels. My guitar playing has improved significantly as a result!
